Patrick Madden talked about how teenagers have a hard time writing about anything other than hard life events, family members passing, or winning an award. I agree with him. Nowadays i feel like students can't search their brains for the little memories, they just write about the things that made them the happiest, and even the saddest. "So let’s think more, ponder, wonder, meander, maunder." Madden said,  which is something that this generation has a hard time doing in my opinion. Students have a hard time actually thinking, and instead they just write down anything to make the essay longer. I believe that the purpose of this essay is to talk about thinking outside of the box, and make things more interesting for the reader.
