Jillian B. 5th Period

This essay was really interesting for me.  Especially now as we are writing our memoirs.  Our lives have infinite amounts of crazy, sad, hilarious, happy, uplifting and inspiring tidbits.  We just need to stop sometimes and take a step back to really look at our lives.  Make changes that we need to, and keep in mind our strengths that we like about ourselves.  Writing about one's self takes a lot of guts.  It really opens us up and makes us vulnerable.  This essay made that not seem so scary.  Patrick Madden made writing exciting and a good way to express ourselves.  Of course he is not the first one to say that, however he is the first one to talk about his little girl wiping a booger on her blanket.  Letting his family not only be part of his job, but his family to BE his job.  Now I still don't see how he makes a living off of these essays.  But if he is, good on him!
