Hailey Brown Period 1
A section of Peck's writing I really enjoyed was "Writing is a spiritual practice, a soul-cleansing, deep-dive into the emotions and ideas we might not even be at first aware that we have." I can relate to this greatly because while writing, I often discover emotions towards something that I had no recognition of. I like how she refers to it as "soul-cleansing" because writing is often a great tool for you to express your feelings. Another part of the writing I liked was "Perhaps we are afraid of writing because we're afraid of knowing our own story." I really like this quote because I feel this is the most common reason people are afraid to write. I think people don't want to face their true feelings because their afraid to.

ReplyDeleteEarly years of writing for me, I was very scared and thought that I would look stupid. This made me feel afraid to write things and to express my feelings on paper. As I have grown older I have grown a sort of careless attitude and realized that my writing is who I am.
Sarah Sessions Period 5
ReplyDeleteI agree with what Sarah said about writing being a self-cleanser. I have experienced writing and being able to write down all my feelings on paper and get it out has helped me. I think why we are afraid of our own stories is that we don't want to compare our lives to others, and have others look at it and make fun of our life.
