Luci Graves, period 1

I really enjoyed this article because the author and I have similarities. The author wrote, "It’s amazing how appealing laundry and dishes become when I’m avoiding saying the thing that needs to be said." I totally agree with her! I go up to my room to write, but I always find myself cleaning and organizing my room instead. I find reasons to put off my writing. I also love the quote by Spinoza. It says, "Emotion, which is suffering, ceases to be suffering as soon as we form a clear and precise picture of it." When something happens to me, good or bad, I can't get it off my mind until I finally get around to writing it down. Once I've written it down, usually in my journal, I can let it go and move on to other things. Writing things down allows me to let it out and see the big picture. It's just, it can be hard to write emotional things down. Sometimes it's just easier to avoid doing it.

  1. I really agree with this. I never noticed that once you write things down, it enables you to think about different things and move on. Good observation! - Hailey Brown
