Sierra Alexander, period 1

"As we uncover the deeper truths and ideas—we become aware of who we are, and possibly the painful moments within us that have been buried for so long."
just like when you are feeling a certain emotion and you listen to a song on the radio and instead of feeling the beat and really just 'jamming out' you really listen to the lyrics and relate them to the way that you are feeling. Also when something happens to you, whether it causes you pain or happiness its different on paper. when the event happens the thoughts that are filling your mind are a lot different then when it is written down and I feel like this helps you learn about yourself.

  1. I like how you related this quote to music. I connected when she said this too, but never thought of it being used in music. It's so true though. If you're feeling heartbroken and that one song comes on all you can do is ball like a baby. As you're crying all of the buried emotions come out and once the song is over, you feel brand new!

  2. I really liked how you related music with writing, they both really help bring out your true emotions. I really liked that little excerpt from the article as well.

  3. i hate that when something happens to me i have the perfect words to explain it but when i go to write it down or tweet about it the words dont seem to come out right on paper. So in this sense i completely relate to this comment.
