Patrick Madden wrote an essay about writing essays. I found this to be somewhat helpful for learning about how to construct a good essay that people will enjoy. When I write an essay the hardest part is brainstorming ideas or finding something interesting that both the reader an I will enjoy. Madden describes a successful essay as using memories and research together to build towards a common meaning. This means that an equal ratio of personal experience that can connect with the audience and proven facts that relate to the topic of the essay need to blend with each other to reach a common goal. Madden explains that inspiration is everywhere and that if someone looks long enough they will find what they are looking for. Even if the topic of the essay has nothing to do with what someone is experiencing at the moment, the person can still find inspiration in the surroundings. Just relaxing and taking one's mind off of the topic can free the brain and allow it to ponder the topic in the background. Inspiration is everywhere. People just have to pay attention to find it.
