The infinite suggestiveness of common things was a really interesting read to me. I love how the author starts with a small incident that happened. The student asks him what will happen when he no longer has any other experiences to write about. Of all the responses to this I think this would be one of the best. Children are, and always will be our inspiration. When you see a child doing something wonderful you then likely strive to do something equally as impacting for the child. This for Patrick Madden may be finding new topics to write about through his children and children in general. I also love how he talks about the beauty of the word, not the meaning of the word but the word its self. I've heard of others having this same thought but it always confused me. How could a word be beautiful when the meaning, the whole purpose of the word was bleak and unimportant. I think the author explains how he feels about this concept beautifully. He picks a word,"cotidiana" when you speak or write this word it means nothing more than to say something is ordinary, just a regular run of the mill word. The word however, sounds and looks and feels beautiful to both Madden and surprisingly myself. I find this author's writing engaging and insightful, I would likely read anything else he has to share with the world.
