What I really loved about this essay was how much emphasis the author put on experiences, and how they can come from anywhere. Personally, I find essay writing tedious, and I always feel like they have to be some profound new thought or experience, so even just thinking up a rough draft can be exhausting. I can never seem to find anything that is perfect enough, and it's frustrating.
He used so many examples and quotes that were very encouraging. Inspiration can come from anywhere. Simple truths and experiences can often leave the biggest impression on us, and I love that idea. Too often we feel pressured and rushed to write down a life changing experience, but we only have so many. Also, these experiences can be personal, and hard to write about. So having an experienced writer come out and say that it can be the littlest thing in the world, is huge. I've always felt like my writing should be able to make an impact on someone, which is scary, and can be hard to find a topic to write about. Reading this has put some of my fears to rest about my own writing, and sharing my experiences.
